- Turtle Creek
- This affordable housing development is a mix of 27 multi-famliy units and 20 single family lots, tying in with surrounding neighborhoods of both housing types. What makes it special is its adjacency to Walnut Grove Park and Turtle Preserve. In an effort to respond to this critical habitat, parking is concentrated, buildings are clustered around open space areas, stormwater drainage is directed to biofiltration swales, and pedestrian connections are directed toward the park and away from natural areas. Planting areas consist of low maintenance plants and native plants that thrive in the local soils, require little irrigation or other inputs and a conscious effort was made to select tree species that complement the naturally occurring species in the adjacent turtle preserve.
