- St. John's Military Academy
- On a classic old campus in the heart of Wisconsin, honoring the lives of those who attended and served the Academy by building a columnbarium on a campus full of young growing adults would need to be done in a discreet way. Determining the proper location for this would prove to be critical to the success of the project. The site selected was adjacent to the historic chapel, so our design necessarily had to complement, but not detract from, this grand architectural gem. The result is a sanctuary that can be entered via a grand stone archway with iron gates, descending down cobblestone ramps past a series of stone pilasters that echo the arches of the chapel. The simple fountain at the end of the passage fills this sunken courtyard with soothing sounds, further separating the space from the activities of campus life and allowing a peaceful solitude.
