- King Estate Vineyard
- Perched atop a butte southwest of Eugene and situated on over 1,000 acres of prime agricultural soil, King Estates Winery boasts seven acres of winery gardens and a 4,000 square foot terrace for social events and corporate business engagements.
The gardens are a series of both formal and informal experiences that combine herbaceous plant beds, lush elegant plantings, and woodland arboresque plantings that are designed to enhance the quality of the winery experience as well as knit the project back into the surrounding agricultural and forested landscape.
The ceremonial tasting terrace orients toward expansive views to the hills of the Lorane Valley while grand steps lead down to the vineyard to create a wonderful space. The materials were carefully selected to recreate the feeling of an old Normandy castle. Over-sized bricks, split stone and heavy stucco walls were used to extend the building out into the landscape. Beautiful perennial beds line the terrace and allow guests to enjoy the scents that decorated the wine itself.
