Jacob’s Lane

Posted in Housing & Master Planning

It’s not often you get to create a whole neighborhood. We were thrilled to be brought in early to help with the site plan for this 80-unit affordable housing project in west Eugene. Working closely with architect David Edrington and the Housing and Community Services Agency of Lane County, we were able to help arrange the buildings and driveways to create a variety of functional and pleasing outdoor spaces — from cozy garden rooms and porches to larger common areas where residents can gather and children can play. We also divided auto parking into small clusters to avoid an expansive parking lot. Jacob’s Lane won the Governors Award for Livability in 2000, which noted that the project “makes great use of a difficult site.”
